A while ago, I had cold symtoms.
I got checkd up at a clinic and receieved a prescription.
*prescription 처방전
I came out and went to the pharmacy across the street.
I gave them my prescription and they gave me my medicine.
The pharmacist explined to me how to take the medication.
There were masks at the pharmacy so I bought a handful of them.

I had a persistent cough and I thought that wearing a mask would help.
Also, I had a pain *in* my shoulder
I got a medicated patch to put on it.
Finally, I had a run out of??? a mouth wash at home, so I bought a bottle.

1) get checked up (at a clinic) 진료받다, 치료받다, 건강검진을 받다
I tried to get checked up every year.
If you feel sick, you should get checked up.
2) have a pain *in* ~ ~에 통증이 있다. ~가 아프다
I can't talk much because i have a pain in my throat.
3) medicated patch 파스 (=pain relieving patch=pain relief patch)
- My skin turned red when i applied the medicated patch.

It's not a big ask to find a pharmacy in Korea.
*big ask -> not a big ask 대수롭지 않다. 비교적 쉽다.
Almost every neighborhood has a least one.
On busy streets, you can easily find several.
If you don't see one, you can search for one *on* an app.
There's uaually one nearby within walking distance.
Most pharmacies in Korea are on the small side.

Still, they usually have what you are looking for.
This includes presciptoin medication and over the counter medication.
They also sell hangover tonics, dietary fiber supplements and vitamins.

Most pharmacies don't stay open late. 늦게까지 영업하지 않는다.
However, conveninet store also sell basic medical supplies.
You can get them there in a pinch.
1) within walking distance
Is there a cafe within walking distance?

2) over the counter (OTC) medication 일반의약품 <-> prescription medication
It's just over the counter medication, but I tried not to take too much.
3)in a pinch = in case of emergency = in case of urgency 급하면, 여차하면
you can walk there in a pinch.
