Talk about how online grocery shopping is becoming more widespread.

Korea is a global leader when it comes to shopping for groceries online.

Online sales of daily necessities make up 25% of the total trade volume.

The figure is much higher than in other first world contries, where the number is in the single digits.

Especially among younger generations, people shop for groceries by placing orders on their smartphones and having things delivered to their home.
People can buy almost anything online, including fresh produce and meat.
Speedy delivery is one of the reasons online grocery shopping caught on quickly.

Getting groceries delivered early in the morning they day after you order has become par for the course.

Amid this trend, competition is heating up among Internet grocery-shopping companies.

Well-known distributors are cutting down on the number of stores, in favor of expanding online shopping services.

B: Me? I usually do my shopping online.
A: Really? For groceries, isn't it better to go and see the products in person?
B: No, it's not a must. I can order online and still get fresh products.
A: I see. It does seem like more people are buying groceries online these days.
B: Yeah. It's because there are more single person households.
A: Do you think I should give it a go?
B: Sure, try it out. I'll send you a link to the app I use.

A: 정말?
A: 그렇구나.
