# Study Group Questions

1. Space exploration costs a lot of money. Do you think it's worth it? Why or why not?
2. Why do you think so many people are fascinated by space?
3. What are some science fiction movies about space travel? What are some of your favorite sci-fi movies?

# SPEECH PRACTICE

Talk about space exploration.

Space exploration means actually traveling out to space and finding out what is there.

During the Cold War, it was driven by Space Race between the U.S. and the Soviet Union.

In 1969, the U.S. became the first to land a man on the moon. It has held an edge ever since.

The Space Shuttle was developed later, making it possible to reuse projectiles.

The space competition gave way to group efforts, including the International Space Station.
Recently, China has been going all in on space exploration.

China amazed the world last year by landing a spacecraft on the far side of the moon for the first time.

China is drawing up plans to build a new space station. It also plans to explore Mars for the first time.
