Talk about why we should read books.
Books are treasure troves of wisdom. *trove=collection
We often hear that successful people are voracious readers. *voracious 욕구가 강한 / voracious reader 독서광
Various books contain information to expand our knowledge.
Books help us to know more and have a wider perspective of the world.
The knowledge we gain from books helps us make better choices in major life decisions. *major life decision 인생의 중대 결정
Books also contain stories and enrich us emotionally. *enrich someone emotionally ~의 정서를 풍요롭게 하다
We feel various different emotions as we read.
This is what makes us more human.
1) expand one's knowledge 지식을 쌓다
Studying is not the only way to expand one's knowledge.
To expand his knowledge, we often take him to museums.
2) have a wide(r) perspective 넓은 시야를 갖다
The company wants to hire people who have a wide perspective.
I try to have a wide perspective when I travel.
3) major life decision 인생의 중대 결정
I usually talk to my parents before making life decisions.
You shouldn't rush when you make major life decisions.

The types of books people read.
I enjoy books on history. *책의 주제를 말할 때 "on"
There are many books with interesting accounts of Korea's history. *accounts of ~에 대한 서술
They help me learn about historical facts.
Also, they help me to understand current events from a historical perspective,
I also read books on world history.
It's good to know about global trends from past centuries.
I also read a lot of modern novels.
I read books by both domestic and foreign authors, and I put myself in the main character's shoes.
When I pick up the good novel, I often read all through the night. *pick up 책을 들었다 하면
Recently, I subscribe to a Youtube channel that recommands good reads. *read 는 book 을 의미함
1) from a historical perspective 역사적인 관점에서
From a historical perspective, it wasn't a big deal.
I try to watch the news from a historical perspective.
2) put oneself in one's shoes ~의 입장이 되어 생각하다
Whenever I argue with someone, I try to put myself in their shoes.
You should try to put yourself in my shoes.
3) all through the night 밤새도록
I studied all through the night before the test.
We stayed up all through the night to talk about it.
