Talk about face masks.

The coronavirus outbreak has led many people to wear masks. Masks are invaluable when it comes to preventing the spread of disease. They're especially effective for preventing diseases that are transmitted through the respiratory system.
However, because so many people were trying to purchase masks, their prices skyrocketed. Some areas suffered a shortage of masks, and they were hard to get.
The government implemented a policy of producing and distributing masks in large amounts. It also put a cap on the number of masks each person could buy. People were also only allowed to buy masks on certain days of the week depending on their year of birth. The government also cracked down on cornering the market.

코로나바이러스 발병으로 상당수의 사람들이 마스크를 쓰고 다니고 있다. 마스크는 질병의 확산을 예방하는 데 큰 도움이 된다. 특히 호흡기로 전염되는 질병 예방에는 마스크가 효과적이다.
그러나 워낙 많은 사람들이 마스크를 구매하다 보니, 마스크의 가격이 급격히 상승했다. 일부 지역에서는 품귀 현상을 빚으면서 구하기도 힘들었다.
정부는 마스크를 대량으로 생산해서 공급하는 정책을 펴기도 했다. 그리고 한 사람이 살 수 있는 마스크 수량에 제한을 두었다. 사람들은 태어난 해에 따라 지정된 요일에만 마스크를 구입할 수 있었다. 또한 정부는 마스크의 매점매석을 강력하게 단속하기도 했다.
